Permanent solution for corrosive recycled water in mine

To get recycled water from the filtration plant back to the production facility, this customer was using carbon steel pipes. These carbon steel pipes had a short lifetime and required constant attention. A permanent solution was needed that could also cope with the landslides that would frequently happen.

The customer selected SoluForce pipes and formed a ‘hybrid line’. For the first part (starting at the high pressure pump system) SoluForce H515ST was used, while for the last 30% of the line (where pressures dropped due to friction loss) SoluForce M570ST was used. The pipeline was installed in mountainous area, where at the peaks air breathers were installed to allow trapped air to exit the pipeline. At river crossings emergency ball valves were installed as per local regulation. With the quick installation, closure of the main road was kept to a minimum to ensure continuity of operations.
